Dr. Robbins has worked closely with Center Director Kathleen Nadeau for the past nine years. Her approach, like that of Kathleen Nadeau, is a practical, problem-solving approach that is solution-focused. Dr. Robbins has co-authored papers with Kathleen Nadeau, and also does co-presentations with Kathleen Nadeau on a variety of ADHD-related issues. Carol Robbins’ many years of clinical practice have all been focused on the assessment and treatment of ADHD. She has been the coordinator of the Anne Arundel County CHADD chapter for many years.
Dr. Robbins’ treatment approach emphasizes helping clients develop more “ADD-friendly” lives through teaching life management skills, compensatory strategies, appropriate workplace/academic accommodations and organizational skills in a semi-structured cognitive-behavioral framework. She educates her clients about living with ADD and addressing the emotional fallout of struggling with the disorder. This includes helping them to define themselves by their strengths, rather than by their weaknesses and to re-envision themselves and their story through the lens of having ADHD, a real brain-based difference, rather than a character flaw.

Personal Information: Who am I?
I am a forty-something-year-old woman who cares very deeply about serving the ADHD population in every way possible. It is my personal and professional mission to share all that I know about this complex and all-encompassing brain difference by spreading the word and providing assistance to the many struggling families and individuals living with it. Having this expertise allows me to better guide my own children, a son (10) and a daughter (12), through their journey of living with ADHD. I am also married to a “well-compensated” spouse with ADHD and can relate myself to some of the challenges as an individual and as part of a couple.
I enjoy kayaking, tennis, skiing, camping, ballroom dancing, and traveling. I am open to and respectful of all religious/spiritual/cultural/sexual orientations and enjoy professional and personal relationships with individuals from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds.
