Clinical Focus

Dr. Henderson’s approach to assessment and treatment is practical and goal-oriented.

Assessment:  Dr. Henderson provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for children and adults.  The goal of each assessment is to answer specific questions and to provide education about strengths as well as weaknesses.  Dr. Henderson believes that a good assessment should also provide very specific and practical recommendations that can be used immediately to effect change.

Therapy with Adults:  Dr. Henderson works with people of all ages whose neurologic impairment is interfering with their ability to achieve their life goals.  She believes that assessment and therapy should be focused on helping you to achieve your immediate goals.  Her approach to therapy is educational and directive.

Therapy with Children:  When working with children who have ADHD or other diagnoses, Dr. Henderson emphasizes the child’s strengths to help compensate for areas of difficulty.  Family therapy is focused on behavioral modification, parent training, stress management, and specific strategies for living with your particular diagnosis.  She believes that therapy should always be very practical and goal-oriented

Parenting Group:  So many problems can be solved when you learn great parenting techniques!  Dr. Henderson teaches parenting skills that are simple and are clinically proven to be effective.  Click here for more information about her parenting class.
