Career/Workplace Consultations

Kathleen Nadeau, center director, a pioneer in career and workplace issues for adults with ADHD, works closely with the Center staff to provide career and workplace consultations regarding problems in a current job, or efforts to change jobs or careers.

Retirement Issues

Retirement from the structure of work life can be particularly challenging for adults with ADHD. We offer guidance specifically focused on helping adults prepare for retirement as well as helping retired adults build structure and focus into their daily lives.

Adult Testing

In many cases, a full test battery is not necessary for the diagnosis of ADHD in adults. Often a diagnosis can be made on the basis of an extensive clinical interview, completion of adult ADHD questionnaires, and a review of available academic and medical records.

When there is need to evaluate for learning disabilities or other co-existing conditions, or there is a need for official documentation of ADHD (such as in an employment dispute in the workplace or need for documentation to obtain school accommodations), then testing is called for. Some or all of our diagnostic tools may be employed in an assessment, depending upon the issues being explored.

Testing Batteries

Our standard diagnostic test batteries consist of cognitive and academic testing. The initial clinical interview assists us in evaluating whether additional tests should be administered to provide us with more information about specific concerns. We offer test batteries for each age group that may be supplemented, on a case by case basis, with other tests depending upon the particular concerns being addressed.

These batteries are for diagnostic testing, not for school admissions.  The school admissions batteries are much shorter.
